New India Operation
In 1996 CADS, an already well established software developer, established a subsidiary in Chennai (formerly Madras) India.  Success with products such as CADS RC and various structural design and detailing applications, had opened up new opportunities for further product development.  Much of our product research, development and testing is now conducted in Chennai, under the guidance of the UK Directors and senior developers.

Fast Track Detailing Begins
In 2002 we established a Detailing Team to service the needs of US rebar fabricators who used our CADS RC software but needed additional capacity for major projects. Again we were able to develop this business quickly and by the end of 2004 we were detailing around 4000 tons of rebar per month for several fabricator clients in the USA where there are more than 700 CADS RC licences in use.

Additional India Office & Detailing Expansion
In January 2005 we decided to open another building (adjacent to the existing office) to accommodate a large scale expansion of our detailing division to more than 200 draftsmen. 

This was mainly due to further expansion of our US client base and strong sales of our CADS RC software to rebar fabricators and contractors in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE.

Dubai Projects
Since November 2004 we have detailed 28 storey RC towers in the Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) development comprising core walls and post-tensioned slab floors. We have also detailed several major structures at the Dubai Festival City development in the 2nd half of 2005.  These include 90m/25 residential & hotel developments, a convention centre, a 1.5km tunnel and a 5 storey car parking podium.  We have also been engaged to detail part of the World's biggest shopping centre, Dubai Mall.
