CADS RC V9 Tutorial (12123 Kb)

The aim of this tutorial is to be a comprehensive tool for both new and existing users.  More content will be added over time to this substantial document.

CADS RC Hints and Tips (1116 Kb)

An essential document for users wishing to exploit all that CADS RC has to offer.

CADS RC V9 Quick Start Guide (319 Kb)

The aim of this guide is to explain the fundamental changes to CADS RC v9, to enable you to convert existing drawings to work in v9 and how to register your title blocks for creating new drawings.

CADS RC - Composite BS8866:2005 Types File Including the Legacy T & R Types (2 Kb)

This composite CADS-RC types file extends the range of bar types offered under the BS 8666:2005 configuration to include the legacy T & R types.  Bars detailed to these legacy types will use the bend radius rules as defined in the legacy BS 8666:2000 code. If these bars are subsequently bent and supplied as type H bars then this may introduce problems with placement.

We advise that you carefully consider all aspects of your process before using these legacy types.

Click on the file link below to download, and then unzip the contents to your \CADS-RC\PARAMS folder and configure CADS-RC to use it by setting the "Bar Types File" setting in the "Support Files" area of the "Configuration Centre".

CADS RC - Landscape Excel Schedule Template (54 Kb)

The Landscape Excel Schedule Template can be downloaded for detailers wishing to include rebar with dimensions beyond `E/r´ in their Excel schedule printouts.

This template supports dimensions A to J.

Copy the downloaded file to the `cads\cads-rc\xlt\bs8666-2005´ folder.

Creating a CADS Workspace and Loading CADS Partial Customer User Interface (669 Kb)

The way in which AutoCAD allows the user to save his screen layout, available pull down menus and toolbars is very different in AutoCAD 2006 as compared to AutoCAD 2005.

In AutoCAD 2005 the screen layout was saved in the profile, in 2006 it is saved inside a Workspace.  Several different workspaces can be created for different detailing situations e.g. reinforcement detailing, steelwork detailing or 3D drawing.
