What Can SMART Modeller Offer?
SMART Modeller works in both steel and concrete and offers a range of features for FE Slab Designer users.
Free Up Your AutoCAD Licences
Because SMART Modeller does not run in AutoCAD, each SMART Modeller licence you purchase frees up an AutoCAD licence to your business.
That does not mean that SMART Modeller works in isolation. In fact, as well as linking with AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT it also integrates with the market leading RC detailing package, CADS RC as well as CADS Advance Steel. In addition you can link to CADS range of RC designer software for beams, columns, pile caps and pad bases. SMART Modeller utilises the industry standard Data Exchange File (DXF) format.
Utilise Advanced Controls
When working with SMART Modeller you will immediately notice the more intuitive interface, which enables you to model in 2D or 3D. The controls offer improved mesh refinement, including the size of the mesh element and a facility to refine the mesh at nodes and boundaries. Internal dynamic drawing production enables you to print directly from SMART Modeller or export to AutoCAD in 2D and 3D.
Theoretical & Practical Reinforcement
As well as Theoretical Areas of required reinforcement produced, SMART Modeller also allows you to input actual reinforcement as loose bar or mesh. The Practical Reinforcement can then be used to control deflection in sub-regions of RC slabs, walls etc., where increasing the thickness of the overall structure is not an efficient solution. The 2D or 3D model can then be processed using a powerful non-linear analysis to report long term and creep deflections, as well as any potential cracking.
Other Features
SMART Modeller has optional modules for non-linear analysis which covers hinges, plasticity, cables and tension/compression only members.
SMART Modeller also has optional modules for dynamic analysis, including Eigen Mode and Seismic.
A range of additional Design Codes are available, including EC and ACI.
