Anticipation of the golden beams of light reflecting off the glass walls onto the water below earned this ambitious project its name Lamar which means 'molten gold' in Arabic. Construction was started in 2008 and when it is completed in 2012 it is expected to dominate the sky line of Jeddah, surpassing the previous tallest tower by more than 250 feet!
The two towers of 60 & 68 storeys and a 13 storey shopping mall are expected to provide more than a million square meters of usable space for recreational and commercial purposes. The construction of such a mammoth structure in about three years required a team of time and quality conscious participants who were able to meet demanding deadlines.
So when the main contractor Arab Technical Construction Company chose CADS to supply the structural general arrangement/form work drawings and RC shop drawings and bar bending schedules the target was to deliver 4000 A1 size drawings detailing 40000 tonnes of steel in less than 20 months. CADS has stood up to the challenge and demonstrated a performance that is best described in the words of Mr. Mehris Abdu (Senior Project Manager) when he says:
"On time delivery from CADS and their outstanding client servicing has made them a very reliable associate for us."
