Abu Dhabi will be hosting its first Formula One Grand Prix in November 2009 on a new state of the art circuit on Yas Island. Included in the Yas Island circuit design is the Marina Hotel, the only hotel in the world to have a Formula One track running through it. This feature will give an unparalleled view of the new track to guests who are residents on the race weekend.
Work commenced in February 2008 with completion due in September 2009. The two towers that make up this 5 star hotel venue are covered with a glazed cloak (grid shell) and will offer 499 bedrooms, from a standard room through to Presidential Suites. The hotel includes leisure and restaurant facilities with a Michelin starred restaurant and an underground car deck housing 200 cars. Both hotel towers are linked with a link bridge at level 1 with executive lounge facilities being constructed within the bridge deck. Facilities within the bedrooms include state-of-the-art electronics ranging from Bose music systems to large plasma screen televisions. All bedrooms have wet room design bathrooms. |
