Corus Advance Steel Sections in Advance Steel 7.1

 4 Apr 2007
Corus has introduced Advance, as the new identity for its range of structural sections.  The name applies to all sections manufactured for the UK, including beams, columns, channels, angles and bearing piles.  The latest Advance Steel 7.1 supports the new profiles, ensuring users can comply with the latest Construction Products Directive.

The key driver for introducing Advance was the requirement from September 2006 for structural sections used in Europe to comply with the Construction Products Directive.  As designers will need to be sure that the sections they specify comply, Corus introduced Advance to simplify the process.

In addition, the Advance section range includes 21 new beam and column sizes to increase the flexibility that steel offers designers, plus the introduction of a simplified method of steel grade specification and a new system of section designation.
