SMART Scaffolder v1.2 Upgrade

 11th May 2009

Enhancements:

1. SMART Scaffolder has now been split so that it is available as a base product, which allows you to produce drawings and load lists, plus a number of optional modules that can be purchased separately and used in any combination:

a. estimate IT: the estimating features of SMART Scaffolder have now been moved into the estimate IT add-on module. All existing customers will not notice any change and will automatically receive this add-on;
b. estimate IT lite: a new lightweight version of the estimating module is also now available, at a lower price point, which allows you to create professional estimates easily but does not provide automatic pricing;
c. check IT: the TG20 check module can now be used with the base product, allowing you to check scaffolds for TG20 compliance even without the estimating module;
d. draw IT link: This version of SMART Scaffolder includes the first version of a new add-on for the automatic production of high-quality engineers' drawings in AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT: the draw IT link.
The draw IT link allows you to export drawings from SMART Scaffolder into AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, or any other CAD system that accepts DXF files.

These drawings can be printed to a high-quality on any printer or plotter. If you have purchased the draw IT add-on for AutoCAD you can edit these drawings easily to superimpose them over architect's drawings, add annotation, or to modify the scaffold to cover special cases.

2. The Welcome screen has been updated to show the new module structure and to allow you to easily upgrade your hardware key (dongle) to add modules when required.
3. The TG20 check IT module has been improved to allow a scaffold with one boarded lift and one landing to pass the part-boarded basic scaffold check.

Corrections made:

1. Additonal beams are now placed for loading bays that have more than one bay along the width;
2. Plan bracing is now oriented as shown in TG20:08;
3. Several improvements have been made to make the Draw Plan feature robust;
4. Several improvements have been made to manual scaffolds, including the retention of the tender price when altering the hire period;
5. Improvements have been made to circular tank drawing to account for inside boards.
6. The descriptions of the TG20 wind factors have been modified from Low to Extreme, rather than Very Low to Very High.
