Professional software should require a minimum investment in training. Even with an intuitve user-interface the availability of teaching tools helps reduce the learning time and therefore cost to the business.

For Scia Engineer there are a number of tools available: tutorials, manuals, movies, online forum, FAQ's and of course a direct help desk. Yet Scia wanted to lower the barriers to entry even further.

Scia has launched eLearning, a new interactive tool through which the basic functions of Scia Engineer can be learned. The new application explains in an interactive way how an engineer can create a structural model, how the boundary conditions and the loadings are entered, and how to generate finite element meshes. It also explains the design modules for steel & concrete sections. From creation to the generation of a full engineering report, it is all here. The self-training covers 3D steel frames, as well as 2D and 3D concrete structures.
