Construction of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, Tennessee was started in 2003 and completed in 2006.
The approximately 1900-seat Laura Turner Concert Hall was modelled after the "shoebox" design of famous concert halls in Amsterdam and Vienna. It also features natural lighting, a rarity in concert halls of this kind around the globe.
